DAY 9: Just Jokin'
There is a story from the P.O.W.s of World War II of being tortured
by being hung by the arms and cut a little slice at a time. One
or two cuts would not kill, but over time it was a "death of
a thousand cuts." Our words may not seem significant, but they
carry great power: that of life and death. Put-down humor is not
humor at all. As we praise God today, let us build others up with
our words instead.
With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. James 3:9-10
