Certain religions nod their heads when they pray. They think they are "scoring points" with God. However, no amount of praying and nodding will merit entrance into Heaven. The Bible tells us that eternal life is a free gift! It can't be earned. But some say, "All you have to do to go to Heaven is live a good life." Let's then see if you are good: Have you ever told a lie (even once)? Have you ever stolen (the value is irrelevant)? If you said, "Yes," to those questions you cannot enter Heaven because you are a lying thief. If you hate someone, you commit murder in God's sight. Jesus said, "Whoever looks upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery already with her in his heart." The only thing that can save us from God's wrath on Judgment Day (from Hell), is His mercy. Jesus suffered and died on the Cross, taking our punishment, "God commended His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Then He rose from the dead. If we repent and trust in Him, God will freely give us everlasting life. Pray something like this now: "Dear God, nothing I can do could merit everlasting life. I repent and trust alone in Jesus for my eternal salvation. I will read the Bible daily and obey what I read. In Jesus' Name. Amen." Read John 14:21 and visit www.livingwaters.com.
